Psychotherapy and Relationship, and Business Coaching
Psychotherapy is different from professional coaching. I may refer a therapy patient to a coach as an adjunct to therapy. I refer a coaching client to another mental health professional when indicated. I do not change a therapy patient to a coaching client, or change a coaching client to a therapy patient.
My Approach
Both therapy and coaching are of any duration and/or length: crisis, short-term, long-term, or open-ended. My orientation is integrative. My approach is humanistic, psychoanalytic, psychodynamic and includes cognitive behavioral techniques as appropriate and practical.
I carefully consider the needs and preferences of each person. I do not have a formula or one-size-fits-all approach. To me, the fit and match between the therapy patient or coaching client and consultant is a major determinant of success. This conclusion is based on empirical research.
